Bittersweet

Today Tia went into the MTC. Despite the teary eyes, she had her beautiful smile on her face, and was just so excited to begin her mission. As we drove away, we saw her being her talkative, optimistic self. She's going to be a great missionary.
*However, I must say that the new way of dropping off your missionary at the MTC is the worst idea ever. Instead of going inside, watching the missionary movie and singing "Called to Serve", you just drop off your missionary on the curb, like you're dropping them off for school or something. I mean, it's 18 months we're talking about. I think a little longer "goodbye" is needed.

It just all happened so fast. I don't think it really hit me that she was leaving until she was walking away with her luggage.

I miss her already.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Our house looks very Chistmasy with our cute tree and stockings. Now if only finals would be over with we could start celebrating :)

Sweet Surprise

My cute husband got me the best surprise for our semi-anniversary...tickets to the SYTYCD concert!
This past summer in San Franciso we watched the entire season, and loved it (BOTH of us :) The concert was so much fun! I was blown away by Jeanine's awesomeness, and Brandon's steroidish muscles (is he for real?) They performed all my favorite dances. I absolutely loved it. What can I say, my husband is the best.

Six Months

Six months ago today I lived through my dream wedding - the perfect dress, the pale pink roses, the beautiful reception. But on that day the details didn't matter so much. All I could focus on was my new husband, and the wonderful fact that I get to be with him forever.

I love being married. I love decorating our cute house, making dinner, and coming home to my best friend every day. I still get little butterflies when I introduce myself as Stephanie Adams. Sometimes I feel like we're just playing house, but it's real and I love it. I love how Mike always fixes stuff around the house, mows the lawn, and even does the laundry. I love how he is so sensitive to my feelings and can always make me happy. Mike is the best husband ever and I feel so lucky to be married to him.

I can't wait for the next six months, and the rest of forever.

Halloween

We spent halloween weekend with my family in Henderson. We had such a fun time. Saturday morning we went to the temple with Tia for the first time. It was so wonderful to share that experience with her. That night we dressed up and went trick-or-treating with the nieces and nephews. They are such cuties.

Cruise!

This past weekend we went on a last-minute cruise with Mike's parents and little brother, Josh. We had such a fun time! We flew into San Diego on Friday, boarded the ship that afternoon, and sailed off that evening. The next couple days we slept in, lazied around on the boat, and enjoyed the all-you-can-eat luxury of a cruise. My favorite was the unlimited sushi - so good!
We loved the little towel animals on our bed each night. And of course we had to try on our life jackets just in case...
We stopped in Ensenada and saw "la bufadora" and bargained for a $10 purse and $1 mexican jumping beans. We also ate yummy churros and street tacos - which may have made Mike sick :(
Thanks Glen & Shereen for the fun time!

Busy

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. We have just been so busy with work and school. Quizzes, papers, tests, assignments. It never ends. However, now that mid-terms are over there will be much more blogging to come :)

Staples

I got staples in my head last Friday. Mike and I went golfing up at the Cedar Hills golf course. We were practicing on the putting green before going out on the course. As I bent down to pick up my balls, a little boy came over and took a full swing with his putter, hitting me in the head. It was quite traumatic with all the bleeding. So we got a raincheck for golf, and I got two staples in my head. I've been wearing lots of headbands this week :) But it's been healing great, and today I got the staples taken out of my head. Yay!

Sorry for the slightly gross picture...I had to post it for my family.

Sister Zwick

My little sister Tia got her mission call last week! She's going to the...

New York Utica Mission

She enters the Provo MTC on December 16th. Congrats Tia, we're so excited for you! You're going to be such a wonderful missionary!

Baby Blakey

Last weekend we drove down to St. George for my nephew Blake's blessing. It was so fun to be down there with the family. The blessing was beautiful. Little Blake is so sweet and cuddly, and such a perfect baby. I think I heard him cry once. Isn't he the cutest?

Happy Birthday Mike!

Last Friday was Mike's 23rd birthday! That day we had a really fun time golfing with Mike's dad & Grandpa Snow. Mike played great, and got an EAGLE! Then we watched the BYU game (go cougs!), and continued celebrating with a birthday party at our new house! It was such a great day. Happy Birthday love!

Golfing

Yesterday we went golfing to enjoy one of our last few days of summer. I think this was the first time the fun outweighed the frustration. Loved it. And I especially loved Cafe Rio afterwards...Provo still has its perks!

Back in Provo

We made the long drive back to Provo last Saturday. It was sad to leave beautiful San Francisco - seventy degree weather, yummy clam chowder, our wonderful ward. But the good news is...

1. I got a job offer at the end of my internship so we may be back next year!

2. We came back to move into this cute place!
The past few days we have been making our house a home with multiple trips to Ikea, searching Craigslist & KSL, unpacking our wedding presents, buying Mike a tool set (best purchase ever...he is such a handyman :)

We love our new little house!

Nostalgic

I never quite knew what that word meant until this week. Right now I'm in Orlando at an Ernst & Young intern conference, and Mike's in Phoenix with his family. It's our first time being apart for more than a day since last Christmas. I can't wait til Sunday...

Visitors!

Last weekend my family came to visit us! We had so much fun hanging out in SF and doing all the touristy stuff - clam chowder at the wharf, shopping in union square, the wicked raffle, chinatown, riding the cable cars, ghiradelli sundaes, driving across the golden gate bridge, etc. But mostly, it was just fun talking, laughing, and being together. (Not to mention the constant singing of the full house song :) Thanks guys for coming to visit!

Jack London Square

Last night we went to Jack London Square, which is right on the bay.  It's full of cute little shops and restaurants, and has a gorgeous view.  We went out to eat at Miss Pearl's restaurant and walked along the waterfront.  It was a beautiful night.

We won!

After two failed attempts, on Tuesday we finally won tickets to Wicked!  It was a fabulous performance and we both loved it.  The music, costumes, dancing, storyline etc.  Absolutely amazing.  Mike's first broadway experience was a complete success :)

Pizza

One of the best parts about moving to a new place is trying out all the restaurants in town.  Last night we found the BEST pizza place.  Cheeseboard Pizza.  It's pretty unique in that they only offer one kind of pizza each day, always vegetarian (welcome to Berkeley :)  The special yesterday was...

Cremini Mushrooms, Onions, Mozarella Cheese, French Goat Cheese, Garlic Olive Oil, Fresh Herbs

So good.  I may have to go back for lunch today.

A Day in the City

Yesterday Mike and I went into the city and saw some of the touristy sites.  We had a picnic in the park, walked around the beautiful gardens, went and saw the infamous bridge, and drove down lombard street (the "crookedest" street).  It was a fabulous day.

Catchup

A lot has happened this month.  On June 10th, Mike's little brother Jake went into the MTC.  He is going to the Columbia Bogota North Mission.  We've gotten a couple emails and he is doing great!    Then June 12th was my birthday and Mike absolutely spoiled me with a new camera and golf clubs.  That night we had dinner at Macaroni Grill and painted some cute mugs at Color Me Mine.
This past weekend we moved out of our apartment in Provo, and into our new apartment in San Francisco!  Mike did a great job packing the car - fitting all of our stuff, including both the golf clubs and the kitchenaid.  After a long 12 1/2 hour drive, we finally arrived.  We're here for 6 weeks for my accounting internship.  Anyone want to come visit?

Golf

Mike is teaching me how to golf.  After going a few times, I've decided golf is the most intense, competitive, frustrating sport...ever.

Yet, in spite of the frustration, somehow I'm developing a desire to keep playing - the golf bug.  I've been reading Golf for Dummies, and I think the author says it best:

"It's maddening frustrating, crazy - and totally addictive.  When it becomes part of your life, you can barely imagine life without it."

Thanks Mike, for introducing me to this crazy sport :)

The Honeymoon

Destination #1 - Hollywood Beach, Florida

We stayed at the Marriott right on the beach & boardwalk.  So fun!  Our 5 days were filled with sunbathing on the beach, pina coladas by the pool, the boardwalk nightlife, delicious room service french toast, sleeping in, a tandem bike ride, yummy seafood restaurants, etc.

Destination #2 - Potomac, Maryland

After saying goodbye to the beach, we flew up to Maryland for the weekend.  We had fun exploring Baltimore & DC, and had a fabulous time at my roommate's wedding.  Ashley & Andrew got married in the DC temple and had a gorgeous reception at her home that evening.  It was so fun for us to go to their sealing and participate in the wedding festivities!

Destination #3 - Phoenix, Arizona

On Sunday we flew to Phoenix.  We made it in time for Jake's farewell talk, which was wonderful.  On Monday we played with our cute nieces and nephew, and got ready for our open house that night.  The open house was fabulous.  We had a great time visiting with Mike's friends and ward members, and again celebrating our special day.
